Welding & Fabrication in Bear and Glasgow, Delaware

Bear and Glasgow sit right up Route 896 and Route 1 from our shop on Dexter Corner Road in Townsend, about 18 miles or roughly 30 minutes away. That puts the whole Route 40 corridor, from Glasgow to Bear and over toward Lums Pond, inside our regular mobile welding area. When a trailer tongue cracks or a gate drops off its hinge, we bring the truck, the welder and the generator to you.

What We Fix Most Around Bear and Glasgow

Contractor and landscaper trailers on Route 40 and Route 896

This end of New Castle County is full of small contractors, landscapers and tradesmen running trailers hard every day. We repair cracked tongues and frames, broken ramp gates, bent jack mounts, rusted-out crossmembers and loose fenders, usually right in your driveway or yard so the trailer is back to work the next morning.

See Trailer Repair.

Horse and boat trailers near Lums Pond State Park

Lots of folks around Lums Pond keep a horse trailer or a boat trailer in the side yard. Those trailers sit, rust and then get used all at once. We fix floor supports, dividers, hitches, bunk brackets and axle mounts, and we can check the welds before a long trip. Our free trailer safety checklist is a good place to start.

See Trailer Safety Checklist.

Railings, stair rails and driveway gates in the big neighborhoods

The Route 40 subdivisions are now old enough that porch railings, stair rails and steel gates are starting to rust at the posts or break at the welds. We repair them in place or build new ones to match, in steel or aluminum.

See Gates, Fences & Railings.

Not sure whether your broken part can be fixed at all? Take the Will It Weld? quiz on your phone in about a minute, or send Rick a couple of photos and get a free estimate before anyone drives out.

A lot of Bear and Glasgow calls come from homeowners who aren't sure who to call for a small job. A cracked trailer hitch, a broken mailbox post bracket or a sagging gate is too small for a big fabrication shop and too big for a handyman. Small pieces like a hitch or bracket are quickest to bring to the Townsend shop on your way down Route 1. Call or text ahead first. Bigger things that can't move, like a gate on its posts or a loaded trailer, we fix on site.
