Marine Welding for Boats, Docks & Barges

Salt water is hard on metal, and boats never seem to break on a convenient day. RickTheWelder does marine welding on boats, barges and docks, in the water or up on the yard, along the Delaware Bay, the Chesapeake Bay and the C&D Canal area. We're based in Townsend and cover all of New Castle County and Kent County, Delaware, plus Eastern Maryland.

In the Water or in the Yard

If the boat's on a lift, a trailer or blocked up in the yard, our mobile rig drives right up to it. If it's in a slip, we come to the dock. Smaller parts like brackets, rails and rudder pieces can be pulled and brought to our Townsend shop, which often keeps the cost down.

On the Hard, in the Yard

When a boat is blocked up or on jack stands in the yard, the mobile rig pulls up alongside and the repair happens right there, without moving the boat.

Aluminum and Stainless Are Our Thing

Most marine work is aluminum or stainless, and both need clean prep and the right process to hold up on the water. Rick is a certified welder who MIG and TIG welds aluminum and stainless all the time, on everything from boat parts to stage trussing to commercial kitchens.

Commercial Work on the Water

Commercial watermen and marine businesses can call for repairs that need to happen between trips. For yard equipment, see Heavy Equipment Repair.

Don't Wait on a Crack

A small crack in a rudder, bracket or rail only grows once it's pounding through chop. Getting it welded at the dock is a lot cheaper than a tow or a lost season.
