Mobile Welding in Wilmington, Delaware

Wilmington is about 31 miles, or 40 to 45 minutes, up Route 1 and I-95 from our shop in Townsend. It's the biggest city in our service area, and a lot of what breaks there can't be loaded onto a truck: a railing set in concrete steps, a fence along a sidewalk, a stair on the back of a building. That's exactly what mobile welding is for. We bring the rig to the curb and fix it where it stands.

City Work, Port Work and Everything in Between

Rowhome railings, fire escapes and iron fences

Many of Wilmington's older neighborhoods are lined with rowhomes that have steel stoop railings, wrought-iron fences and back stairs or fire escapes that have been painted over for decades. When a post rusts through at the base or a rail snaps loose, we cut out the bad metal, weld in new and leave it ready for paint. Where possible we match the original look rather than swapping in something that doesn't fit the block.

Trucking and equipment near the Port of Wilmington and I-95

Between the Port of Wilmington and the I-95 and I-495 corridor, there are plenty of trucks, chassis, liftgates, dump bodies and yard equipment working hard. We do on-site repairs so the truck doesn't need a tow to a shop: cracked brackets, broken steps, bumpers, headache racks, trailer frames and loader buckets.

Handrails and steel stairs for Riverfront businesses

Restaurants, offices and apartment buildings along the Riverfront and downtown need sturdy handrails, steel stairs, guards and ramp rails. We repair damaged rails and fabricate new ones to fit the space.

See Custom Fabrication.

City parking can be tight, so when you send photos for a free estimate, include one of the street or alley so Rick can see where the truck can park.

Not every Wilmington job is a railing. We also repair gates for parking lots and loading areas, steel doors and frames, security grates, and brackets on commercial trucks and vans. Homeowners in neighborhoods like Trolley Square, Little Italy and the Highlands call about porch rails and fences, while businesses near the river and the industrial areas south of downtown call about equipment. For the bigger jobs we come to you, work neatly and clean up before we leave. Smaller parts can come to the shop in Townsend.

Small job? Drop it off at the shop in Townsend.

Wilmington is about 31 miles, or 40 to 45 minutes, from our shop, so on-site trips here are for larger jobs: equipment that can't move, railings and gates, and bigger trailer repairs. For brackets, hitches, small parts and anything that fits in a pickup, bring it to the shop in Townsend. It's usually done faster and costs less. Call or text (302) 532-6240 first so Rick is there.
