Why Boat Trailers Rust Out
Launching puts the whole trailer underwater, and then it sits wet. Rust starts at crossmembers, spring hangers and the bottom of the frame rails, where you can't see it with the boat on. Our free checklist walks you through what to look at before you tow. See Trailer Safety Checklist.

Get It Fixed Before Spring
Spring is when everyone pulls the cover off and finds the problem. Winter and early spring are the best time to get a boat trailer repaired, before the season starts and before the first trip down the ramp.
