24/7 Emergency Welding
When something breaks after hours, on a weekend or in the middle of a job, call Rick. RickTheWelder offers 24/7 emergency mobile service across all of New Castle County and Kent County, Delaware, plus Eastern Maryland. The rig runs its own engine-driven welder, so the repair can happen in a yard, a parking lot, a jobsite or a field.

Emergency Calls We Take
Broken trailer hitches, tongues, couplers and safety chain mounts
Trucks down: cracked frames, broken brackets, bumpers and dump bodies
Excavators, loaders and forklifts down in the middle of a job
Gates that won't close or lock at a business, farm or home
Dumpster and roll-off doors, hinges and pickup points
Farm equipment that breaks during planting, harvest or haying
Plant and industrial equipment during a shutdown
Dock, boat and marine hardware
Have This Ready When You Call
Where you are: an address, or the nearest crossroads or mile marker
What broke, and what it's attached to
A photo of the break and one from farther back. Text them to (302) 532-6240
What the metal is, if you know: steel, aluminum, stainless or cast iron
Whether it can be moved, and whether there's room to park a truck next to it

While You Wait
Stop using it. A crack under load keeps growing, and a smaller break is a simpler fix
Keep people clear. On a road, turn on your hazard lights, set out triangles if you have them and stay out of the travel lane
Don't chain or strap a broken hitch or tongue together to keep towing
If you can do it safely, take the weight off: chock the wheels, lower the load or bucket, block the equipment
Clear a path so the truck can get close to the break
Don't grind or cut on it first. Leave the break as it is so Rick can see how it failed

The Shop Comes to You
Our mobile rig carries everything needed for MIG, TIG and stick welding, cutting and fabrication, so most emergency repairs are done right where the break happened. No power is needed on site. See Mobile Welding.
Fix It Now, or Get You Through
Some emergency calls end with a finished repair on the spot. Others need a repair that gets you through the night or the shift, and a full fix later. Rick will tell you which one your job is.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you really take calls at night and on weekends?
Yes. RickTheWelder offers 24/7 emergency mobile service. Call (302) 532-6240.
How fast can you get here?
It depends on where you are and where the rig is when you call. Tell Rick your location and he'll give you an honest answer on the phone.
What does an emergency call cost?
Every break is different. Ask about the cost when you call.
Should I call or text?
For an emergency, call. Texting photos of the break to the same number helps Rick bring the right gear.
Do I need power on site?
No. The rig runs its own engine-driven welder, so a parking lot or an open field works fine.
